Works better than expected! Noticeable video quality increase from composite to S-video to the component output. All around a great buy! The unit does get a rather hot in operation, but nothing out of the ordinary. |

Good product over all. Easy to set up, and the picture comes through well. |

I bought this because I use both a Mac and PC to watch/download video, some of it high quality, and I wanted to watch it on my TV.
You can connect a PC, laptop or Mac to your TV with this Avermedia converter. It's a nobrainer, and the video output is fantastic.
Of course, this also depends on how good the video quality is to begin with, and how well it looks on your PC or Mac to begin with.
When I get a new Mac, I'm going hack my old Xbox and also use my old Mac mini as media centers with my TV.

I'm a bit of a geek, so in order for something to get a 5 from me is rare. I travel for a living, small is better, and this is perfect. If you want true 1080i video, this is not the product for you, get a Grandtec, this device only goes to 720i or 720p resolution (which is MORE than enough since component is only good up to 720 anyway - 1080 requires an HDMI input). Do NOT worry about the missing Pin 9 prong - it doesn't do anything on your modern PC. Pin 1 - Red Video, Pin 2 - Green Video, Pin 3 - Blue Video, Pin 4 - Monitor ID bit 2, Pin 5 - ground. Pin 6 - Red Return, Pin 7, Green Return, Pin 8 Blue Return, Pin 9 - not used, Pin 10 sync return, Pin 11 - Monitor ID bit 0, Pin 12 - Monitor ID bit 1, Pin 13 - Horiz Sync, Pin 14 - Vert Sync. If traveling, don't bend the cord at the PC serial connector regularly, you'll pull a pin loose eventually. Great product, so long to my ugly converter box (Grandtec). |

Shipment arrived promptly. But ounce the item was out of the box I was shocked. The item is small and delicate looking but works great. I decided to get the extended warranty because seems like I may have problems in the future. But it works like advertised. I have not complaint on how it functions. Just wish it was built to be more durable. I use it to watch instant movies form Netflix on my living room TV. It is connected to a Pentium 2 computer. Setup was a breeze. It uses USB just for power. No configuration needed. |

I use this for presentations on my laptop (no TV out) its a great size compared to other adapters which is an added bonus. Another reviewer mentioned a missing pin, mine had one missing too. The pin was pin 9 on the VGA pinout and is not used for anything so it makes not difference. |

I bought the Avemedia PC-to-Tv Converter in order to complete my HTPC system. When it arrived form Tiger Direct I noticed that one of the pins from the VGA cable was missing. I contacted Avemedia ane after jumping through a few hoops I finally recieved the go ahead to send this product back. 8 weeks later Federal Express drops the converter off at my house. When I open the box and inspect the product, I see the same exact pin missing from the converter. They did absolutely NOTHING! I would advise anyone to stay away from all Avermedia products. |
