This HP510 is no so bad for such money! It comes with Windows Mobile 6 and with built-in VOIP. That means that Skype is not the best solution fot it. You have to visit HP web and upgrade BIOS to get more durable system. There are no problems with WiFi at all only because of the strong connectivity you have to choose the right network to avoid error messages from the others. There are a few jokes inside this smart phone. One of them not each SD card will be recognized. But with real brands as SanDisk there is no problem. |

The phone has a nice display and a good solid feel in terms of how it's put together. Call sound quality is great and the voice commander feature is really easy to use and actually works! All of the features work well except for the text messaging system which is annoying and frustrating to say the least. The keyboard buttons could have been a bit bigger but, one can get used to that. My phone has been shutting off abruptly at times but, that could be an issue with my particular unit as I haven't heard that report elsewhere. |

It feels bad to give such a bad review on Tigerdirect because I've always had good dealings with them. But the phone is quite disappointing. It is GROSSLY underpowered to perform any task. As the other reviewer echoed WIFI is hit and miss. A good idea as a product (Windows Smartphone with a keypad) but poor, poor execution. |

Sad to know that the once-mighty ''HP'' brand has been reduced to absolute no-quality junk.
After receiving this phone, and just right out of the box when I installed the battery, I couldn't turn it off except by removing the battery. Indeed, a bad omen for things to come.
The WiFi connectivity feature is really cool, but only if it works. If I can get it to connect once, it can' connect again.
The phone's processor is LACKING some serious speed to support the added functionality. If you do get WiFi to connect, the phone slows down to crawling speed and has a strong tendency to crash and freeze.
Also, for Fring and other VoIP applications, simply the phone's processor and existing RAM can NOT run skype, messenger, or whatever over WiFi connection without some serious frustrating lag.
The phone is made-in-China in totality, and the keyboard and body are very flimsy.
Even though price-versus-features is of concern, this phone will overtake all others but only if it worked!!! |

What You Should Know

What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology
intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while
maintaining high levels of security. The key features of Bluetooth technology
are robustness, low power, and low cost.
It’s more than seeing. It’s
believing.
Before wires, everything was wireless. Nature found ways to connect it
all—often on a very mysterious frequency. Bluetooth wireless technology
takes its prompt from nature: harmonious, intuitive, seamless. Products with
Bluetooth wireless technology communicate with a sense of purpose and
elegant efficiency. Today, Bluetooth wireless technology can eliminate
wires. In the future, it may make the word “wireless” entirely obsolete.
By then, Bluetooth freedom will be second nature.
Designed to make connectivity invisible and
reliable. A perfect convergence of extraordinary technology and elegant
simplicity. Hundreds of companies are on board. Thousands of engineers have
contributed. Standards have been set. Specifications have been approved.
More than one billion devices are in use. And people are experiencing just
how far they can go.
It’s integrating every dimension of
productivity.
Where do we work? Desk. Sofa. Car. Hotel. Kitchen. Plane. Yard. It’s not one
location; it’s everywhere. It’s not one application; it’s many. With
Bluetooth wireless technology, our options are endless. It’s where we’d most
expect it and where we’d least expect it—and everywhere in between. It
adapts to how we work and how we live, transforming everyday tasks into
everyday solutions. Surprising, nimble, ubiquitous. Seeking new applications
and finding new opportunities—everywhere we turn.
Technically,
Bluetooth is a specification for the use of low-power radio communications to wirelessly link phones, computers and other network devices over short distances. The name "Bluetooth" is borrowed from Harald Bluetooth, who was a king in Denmark more than 1,000 years ago
(Computer people choose the strangest names!). Bluetooth technology was designed primarily to support simple wireless networking of personal consumer devices and peripherals, including cell phones, PDAs,
and wireless headsets.

Note
About Cell Phone Expansion Memory!
Many cellular phones come with a slot
for expansion memory, such as: Mini or MicroSD, MemoryStick Micro, or
others. Expansion memory is a great way to safeguard photos, contact
lists, and other files. On our product pages, we may show photos or
diagrams of how this memory is inserted and used with the phone for
informational purposes, since we try to be as comprehensive in our
explanation of each phone's features and functions as possible.
However, additional expansion memory cards are NOT included with the phone
(unless explicitly stated).
Remember, regardless of the
brand of your phone, use only compatible micro/mini SD, or memory stick
cards, approved by your phone's manufacturer for use with your device. This
is because not all expansion memory is designed for the same specifications
(such as read/write speeds and capacity). Incompatible cards may
damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.
Also, when inserting a memory
card into your phone, your phone may prompt to format the memory card.
When a memory card is reformatted, all data on the card is permanently lost.
Some memory cards are supplied preformatted and others require formatting.
Consult your memory card's user guide to find out if you must format the
memory card before you can use it. If you are using a memory card in
your phone that was used on another device, such as a digital camera, or a
PC, exercise caution as viruses can be transferred in this way. Never
insert a memory card into a computer that does not have up-to-date antivirus
software. Only open files on the memory card that are known safe.
When in doubt, insert the card in a compatible computer and run a antivirus
scan.
