Mustek PVR-H140 3.6" 40GB Portable Media Player - NTSC/Pal, SD MMC, USB, TV Recorder

I use the thing constantly and it's served me well. Considering the price, 40 gigs is excellent. The few things that could've made it better would be a playlist capability and maybe some EQ presets because the MP3s are a bit piercing sometimes. I got around that problem using an audio editor I have. I just boost the bass a bit and they then sound great. As for organizing your music, it does use folder directories so you can separate your different genres or artists, so that works. You can't drag and drop your WMVs or AVIs directly into it without first using the software included to convert them to ASF, which can sometimes take awhile, but ain't no big deal. Overall, if you don't want to spend $400 bucks on an Ipod or PMP, this is a great product, and I do recommend it.

Don’t know about the other reviews but my player works fine. Mp3 file navigation could be a little better but for the price I can live with it. As far as battery life on mp3 playback shut off the screen and battery life is almost doubled. The player construction is not what I would call rugged but treat it like a digital camera and you should be just fine. Overall I am happy with my purchase Thanks Tiger!

Don't waste your money. Useless software, no support, drivers or any help from Mustek. Batteries do not last long. No luck with converting video yet. Plays mp3 OK. The display is not too sharp. Bulky, too big to be a real portable player. Feels like a brick and is as usefull as a brick.

Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. I bought it 2 days ago and it's already malfunctioning. I wanted a simple player that plays .wav. Yes .wav because I produce my own music and want to listen to uncompressed audio. It plays but only sometimes. Now it won't even turn on. It just blinks for a second then shuts off. The playing functions are poor and so are the what they call ffwd and rew options. It is a poorly designed piece of garbage. Save your money and buy a mini disc. Seems like all these new mp3 players are pure crap.

When I first bought this PVR and opened it, I felt like an idiot. After days and countless hours on Google I came up with a solution for the Video Converter problem. The factory converter does take about 10 hours of time for every 500 MB of movie converting. DON’T USE THIS FACTORY SOFTWARE. Instead, download the ArcSoft Media Converter. Do this immediately. Instead of hours to convert a movie, it now takes minutes and I can finally enjoy this machine to the fullest!
