All in all a decent value for the price. However we have purchased a few slightly different models of these refurbed units and a few are now having power problems. Of the seven we have purchased we have had to replace two power supplies at 25 ea and three bad batteries 100ea within six months of purchase. Given the 30 day warranty of course nothing is covered. But the extended warranty is always pushed by this vendor. I just find it odd and dissapointing that this vendor has gotten to the stage of poor quaility control and is covering it up with an extended warranty option.
Also the computers do not come with any disks. Instead the re manufacturer has installed a hidden partition with all the software on it. From there you can make CDs if you like. But the 320G is a farce unless you reformat the drive. In the configuration we recieved ours in we have 111G of cap capacity.
Othar than that they are fine. |

I recently bought this laptop for very basic purposes. The specs are really great for a computer of this price. The keyboard takes a while to get used to, I was missing a lot of keys at first but you get used to it. The touch controls are a very cool feature. They work very well. My main complaint is the glossy texture that covers most of the laptop as it is extremely susceptible to fingerprints and scratches. The laptop itself is larger than I expected, and heavy but not unreasonable. Also, the screen doesn't go back any further than what you see pictured. I have yet to find this as a detriment to the laptop though. Overall, it's a very fast machine that looks beautiful. Great value, I highly recommend it. |

Works great with NO issues. Appeared to be brand new, with no sign of ever being used. Still wrapped in the protective ''cling'' plastic. Very little bloatware to remove and all applications work fine. Screen is very clear and bright. This is the second one I have bought and the first one has had No issues since August either.
this companies shipping is the greatest! |

Worked perfectly out of the box. It came with Vista (Ugh) and I purchased the Windows 7 upgrade. Installed flawlessly (make sure you pick custom rather than upgrade in the options when installing.) Larger and heavier than I expected. Not that portable. My only complaint is the keyboard which requires a rather precise stroke on the key or it doesn't take. Takes some getting used to. Happy with the purchase, especially at the price. And I like (contrary to my expectations) Windows 7 very much. |

What Is A Cell? It's a
battery
Though technically a battery has multiple cells, we are accustomed to calling a
single energy cell a battery as well.In
electronics, a battery or voltaic cell is a combination of many electrochemical
Galvanic cells of identical type to store chemical energy and to deliver it in
the form of electricity. The battery cells combine to produce more energy
(voltage or amps) than a cell by itself. When joined in this way, it is a
battery of cells. Almost all portable electronics use one or more cells -
rechargeable or disposable. The more cells, the more energy available -
meaning more hours of use usually.
In Notebook computers, the battery case usually
holds three or more cells. 3 Cell batteries tend to provide about 1-3
hours of use, depending on the energy needs of the Laptop. 6 cell (or
more) batteries provide much more energy, and many more hours of use. This
can be good or bad! More cells mean longer use, but more weight too!

So remember to always check for the number of
cells if specified, and choose the right configuration for your use.
Battery Trivia:
The invention of the first battery (known as a Voltaic pile) was in 1800 by
Alessandro Volta! The first known usage of the battery (as we know it
today) was in 1863 by the physician named Flora Bills. |

Recovery Media
Most computer systems no longer include "Recovery Media" (Disks or CDs used to restore your computer system to it's factory shipped state). Many do not even include Operating System disks.
This is not specific to systems purchased from any one company, but now standard practice throughout the entire industry.
However, many manufacturers include software on the hard drive that creates recovery media for you. This allows burning your own set of recovery CDs or DVDs - all you need is the blank media.
Inclusion of such a recovery utility varies by manufacturer and model; not all manufactures and models include such a utility. For those that include such a utility we recommend you create your own set of recovery media after completing the Windows installation. In other words, right after you start using your PC!
If you fail to do this and encounter a difficulty in the future you may not be able to properly restore your computer.
Some manufacturers may have physical recovery media available separately for purchase; consult your owner’s manual support information section for additional information. Systems that do not come with a CD/DVD burner may still include Recovery Disks - please check the manufacturer's specs.
