Gateway
It is a wonderful computer. I am not sure about the Vista operating system. I am doing many downloads of movies and then converting them and burning them to a DVD. It seems to shut down more than normal when many windows are open but it is Vista not the computer. I would highly recommend the computer, but not Vista. I will change the operating system eventually.

I am the most cynical person when it comes to ordering on line. While I often look at this site to compare products, I don't order. When my 5 year old laptop finally said, enough is enough, I had to replace it as quickly as possible. Again, I went to this site looking for a suitable laptop for my use. As I do MIDI music, I need one with as much speed and memory as I possibly can find. This Gateway looked as if it would fit that bill. I went out to my local Best Buy and searched for it. There were new units that cost the same, yet I was unimpressed with what I saw as far as looks and speed. When I came home, I decided to give here a try. I called and asked the customer agent what seemed to be a million questions. I wish I remembered his name because he helped me with every question. This is the second refurbished Gateway laptop I have purchased. The first one I ended up selling to a new customer, hence the purchase of a second before the first was wore out. Great notebook, lighter than the last one and much faster and with a bigger hard drive. Battery life is a little shorter but is has a smaller battery but is more portable. I love it and as usual this site finds and passes on great deals and the shipping is always very fast. Ya gotta love this site. My rep (for my company) is always there to help gather any needed information to finalize a purchase.
