I have been very impressed with my unit. Set up was easy. I have not had the system crash as other reviewers have, and enjoy the freedom of pause and replay while watching scheduled programming on television. |

This system is great! Have a small bedroom and wanted to have a great set up and computer at the same time. And I did get the best of both worlds! I bought mine just a week ago from this site and got it within the week. I also hooked it up on my 20-inch flat panel and it is a beauty! The remote keyboard/mouse and Media Center remote is one of the best out there. |

I, too, was skeptical about this model based on unkind reviews but I am quite impressed with this machine. I plan on replacing the keyboard and have already added a wireless mouse because the all-in-one takes too much getting used to. My advice is chuck the keyboard and use the infrared for the remote control only. One minor complaint (most likely Windows related): After a successful and trouble-free setup of the Media Center software, I encountered a lost channel. It shows up in the guide and I can get the synopsis of the program but just static appears. All other channels work fine. I recorded two shows without the crashing that others have experienced and I burned a dvd without a problem. So far, so good I definitely feel I got my money's worth. |

I bought this not being real sure on how well it would perform, especially after reading past reviews. I've got to say that this unit is terrific. I have not experienced any of the issues that the reviews state. Yes, the wireless IR keyboard takes getting used to; the thumb stick's sensitivity needs to be adjusted to your liking. The freezing screens as in some reviews have not happened to me. There is a newer model a M2100, but all it has is a better video card, FM tuner and a Dual format DVD drive. Not really worth the much higher expense. Once the unit is out of warranty, 1 year, I'll then be able to change out any parts. The video card is not built in, neither is the hauppauge wintv-pvr evolution capture card. It looks very straightforward for future modding. You get a strong pc with a licensed copy of WMC for a great price. Everything works great, and I highly recommend it over Tivo or MythTV. Oh, it can also burn DVD's of your recorded shows without any more software. |

Great computer for a great price, but . . .
Not sure if it's a Windows thing or a processor thing, but it crashes a lot. I was really excited about using this as a DVR. I took out my Replay TV and DVD and VCR and plopped this thing under the TV. The wireless keyboard is really cool. The mouse thing on the keyboard takes a little to get used to. Remote is nice.
But it just wasn't stable enough. I'd be fast-forwarding through a recorded show and it would just shut down. No warning. No error message. (And it's not the MSBlast virus because it doesn't even give the timer countdown.)
I thought maybe it was too hot inside my entertainment center with my cable box (which is also a heat-producing DVR). So I finally had to take it out and put the Replay TV and DVD back :(
So I took the computer out of there and put in my computer desk. Now I have plenty of room around the box, open in back, and it still crashes whenever I do anything with video.
