IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Microsoft SharePoint is a policy-based backup and recovery solution that provides full, incremental, or differential backup at the site-level, subsite-level, and item-level.

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for Microsoft SharePoint granular restore capability includes the ability to restore the portal, top-level sites, subsites, document libraries, lists, folders, areas, and sub areas. An easy-to-use browser-based graphical user interface (GUI) allows administrators to easily define policies for SharePoint backup and recovery, perform in and out of place restores, and centrally control the administration of user accounts and access privileges.

IBM Tivoli Storage Manager for SharePoint integration with the Tivoli Storage Manager server allows SharePoint data to be stored on any of the numerous devices supported by the Tivoli Storage Manager Server and manages SharePoint data as part of the Tivoli Storage Manager hierarchy of storage. You can create (synchronous or asynchronous) copies of SharePoint backup data for off-site protection. The ability of the Tivoli Storage Manager server to reclaim space from media as SharePoint data expires can lead to cost savings in media.
