With ten pairs of PDBT58 in my 5.1 Surround,This sound card sends sweet audio to my ears.

A Great replacement for my dying Xfi sound card

The price was the best I found on all the major vendors websites It sounds better to my tired old ears than the Xfi did and it sounded pretty good. The only 'con' I've found is with the software. The 'Control Panel' does not have the same capabilities as it's predecessor, Creative Console Launcher. With it, I could independently control the bass and treble settings which I cannot do in the new version. Overall, good card for the money. I'm happy and no more lockups on my computer due to unknown problems with the Xfi.

Creative has never let me down for sound.

I recently acquired a Sound Blaster Z via a brick and mortar retail chain, but feel compelled to write a review here. There is a LARGE NOTABLE difference in sound quality even when upgrading FROM an existing Sound Blaster. My old card was a PCI-E X-FI if I recall. The Z offers such a clean and refined sound it is unreal. Haven't tested mic inputs much, but I was able to get decent gain for recording. I did notice it was lighter pickup than I expected, but like the card it's designed to produce clean and non clipped sound. A must have for audio purists, there are much more expensive sound cards that only sound marginally better than this and only to the most discerning ears.

Great sound card

I have had this installed for almost a month now and it has worked great it was easy to install and the software is good the only thing is the mic that comes with the card sounds terrible and I could not get it to sound good but other than that it is great

Linux users beware

Wow, was about to buy this card because I have always had good experience with Creative Labs in the past. But a Google search quickly revealed that Creative Labs no longer cares about Linux and does not provide drivers or support for this card on Linux systems. Some engineers are trying to reverse engineer this card, but after a year of trying still no joy. So Linux users beware, I for one am looking elsewhere!
