This cooler actually keeps a 3200+ Athlon 1 degree C lower than the Northbridge, and the best part is that when the fan wears out, you can replace it with a standard 80x80x25 3 pin fan.

I bought this to replace a noisy CPU heatsink/fan and it has lowered the noise level of my computer considerably. It has also lowered the average temperature of my cpu from ~50 deg C to ~43 deg C using only the included thermal paste. It was a snap to install too.
One negative of this fan is that the bios of my motherboard cannot detect that this fan is installed or read its RPM. I'm assuming they decided to not support this feature to cut costs because this is a low end cpu fan for older processors. Not a big deal for me, as long as it cools properly.
Overall I'm very happy with this purchase. I was considering buying a new computer to because of the noise level. But after installing this fan, I will be happy to keep using it for a few more years.

Bought this item and received it within a couple of days.(cudos to TD for there timely shipping)
It was a breeze to install no my AMD Athlon 2800+(oc'd), but after about an hour of watching my CPU temp rise(68c+)I noticed that the fan was running a constant 2000rpm and would not spin up any faster. it's rated at 2300rpm but my older fan and heatsink combo was running at 3000rpm+ and the CPU temp was a steady 41c. I reinstalled my old one and I will try this out on another rig I am putting together.

This heat sink/fan combo worked great for almost a year, then all of a sudden died. The heat sink still cools the cpu but not as much as with the fan. I gave it a one in quality because it didn't even work for a year.
