After going trough other external hard drives having to return or exchange others like the Seagate 1.5 TB 3 times. I am finally happy with this one.
Backed up more than 350 TB in less 3 HRS. Very quiet and stays cool! |

I seriously am considering boxing-up this beast and returning it. In a nutshell: SLOW as molasses in January, the software GUI is buggy, and there is no real help document provided. It took 8 hours to backup 20 GB (around 50,000 files) on a fast machine, and the backup software was the only desktop item running. True, it uses a USB 2.0 interface, but I could copy and paste the same 20GB to a flashdrive in around 15 minutes. My other hard drive has 350 GB of photos to backup. What am I gonna do---go away for a month while it does the backup? Positives: attractive enclosure, easy installation. |
