Bought 2 of these blackberrys in January 2009. One for myself and one for my son. They were both shipped promptly, however both of the phones were locked. Called the support number and they were very prompt in supplying codes. They are still working great. |

I have the same problem with ''invalid SIM'' issue. Will the reviewer dated Feb. 01,2009 who got it unlocked explain how to get it unlocked? How to ''email with PDA Giant''? Please elaborate.

Bought the Blackberry 8707v on 28 January 2009 and took it overseas. This phone is listed as unlocked but in reality it is not. Unlocking the phone can cost anywhere from US$ 13 - US$ 60 for the code. |

Needed a reliable PDA/Cell with good keyboard & logical operation for an important clients project. This fit the bill perfectly & arrived with more accessories than listed (Including Leather Belt Clip Holster - dont count on this), & in perfect condition.
However it said Invalid SIM so was not unlocked. After email with PDA Giant, got it unlocked fine. The software disk needed updating and adjusting for Outlook 2003, use the BlackBerry site to download the latest Desktop Manager and READ the following, after this was done, everything is Great. http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board/message?board.id=8300&message.id=2412 - The client loves the unit & what we did with the application to match it. GoPhone SIM works for Voice & SMS, but Internet / Data access did not transfer to the Blackberry. We did not need it & made no attempt to see if it could be corrected. Suspect it is GoPhone issue not phone, so other non-prepay should work fine. |

SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT DEFECTIVE RETURNS ON CELL PHONES:
Supplier will thoroughly inspect all phones for damage and missing items. Any returns that do not meet the following guidelines may be refused and returned to you or your credit amount may be reduced or no credit may be issued at all.
1. Any returned cell phone must include the original box with matching identification IMEI and Serial numbers. The Serial number on the phone MUST match the serial number we shipped you.
2. Supplier will not accept returns or process exchanges on phones that have physical damage or have been wet. We're sorry, but if you damage it, they can't accept it back. In the very rare event that your phone is damaged when you receive it the damage must be reported within 72 hours of receipt. In these cases we will issue a return authorization and EXCHANGE the damage phone for a like or similar model depending on availability, provided the serial number matches.
3. Supplier will not accept returns or process exchanges on phones damaged by water or any liquids. We know it might've been an accident, but whether it suffered a small splash of water or a swim in an ocean, they can't take it back. There are test indicators in the phone that let the supplier know that the handset has been wet. |
