This is simple, high-performance scanning at its best. - High-Speed Scanning — Now, scanning is faster than ever. In about 24 seconds2, you can scan a letter- size color original — such as a page from your personal notebook.
- Old Photo Can Look New Again — Built-in retouching technology can enhance your scans of older photos with automatic reductions for dust and scratches, fading, graininess and backlighting. The level of correction can be adjusted to match the condition of your originals.
- Four EZ Buttons — This is simple, high-quality scanning at its best. Four EZ Buttons automate the entire process, so it's a snap to copy and create e-mail attachments or PDFs.
- Advanced Z-lid — The unique Z-lid expansion top enables you to scan or copy bulky or thick items. It lifts approximately 3/4-inch vertically then lays down flat on the page for clear, complete copies or scans from edge to edge.
- Simply Less Wires — To reduce the number of wires in your work area, one cable provides you with both power and a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection.

Bought this scanner for travel. Small size, low cost and USB power source were attractive features. It works great. A snap to scan individual pages or photos. It is not super fast, but reasonable and there is no heat up delay. Several document formats are available, including pdf. I found Canoscan Software very intuitive to use. Hint ... Before installing, check Canon website for latest software version for this scanner. Use the latest version for install instead of the CD that comes with unit. This may avoid problems with Vista OS computers.

This unit has fair reviews on the Web. Mine arrived not working. It was recognised by Ubuntu, XP, and Vista. But all got a failed to communicate when a scan was attempted. Tried it on 4 different PC's. I think it may be a case of under powering the unit as it runs only on the USB power. |
