I got this card on 11.08.08 and installed without any issues. Great quality product, the fan noise doesnt bother me as its the sound of performance at work. Its doing what its supposed to do; to keep the beast in check. My system specs are: Core 2 Duo 3GB 667mhz 2x 160gb HD RAID0 2 system fans 1 DVD burner And a ****drum roll***** 375watt PSU LOL Thats right! 375watt baby! and well see how that goes. I will upgrade if it dies on me but if it doesnt why bother? Get it, Install it, Play it and you're going to have a 3 week permanent GRIN on your face.

I absoulutely love this card. The only problems are that it is a little loud (and just a little), and it runs hot. Mine runs at 76 C idle and 81 C at full load. That is with the fan going at 20%, so it could be cooler. But, I run World of Warcraft at 1600x1050 on full settings with 8x Edge-detect antialising, aand 16x anisotropic, and I get 85 FPS. Also runs Crysis on medium settings at 35 FPS, same resolution. Catalyst Control Center is a great bonus, makes my overclocking so much easier, which in overclocking this GPU clock from 750mhz to 900 mhz and the memory clock from 900mhz (times four because of GDDR5) to 1100mhz only brings the card up two degrees celcius at full load. All in all, its one amazing card, has a great value, you don't need anything else, unless you wnat to play Crysis at full settings on a huge moniter. Then, I'd maybe want two of these.

This card is simply amazing. I have 3gbs of ram, a quad core, and this card, They can play Crysis on very high at an average of around 30fps. Of course that means every other game runs even better. The value of this card is unmatched too, you can find it elsewhere for almost 150$ more! Simply put this card will serve all your needs at an amazing price. Oh only downside is it runs really hot, 80C idle and up to 90C when under full load sometimes, get yourself a good cooling system though and your set!

This card is really good. Although i here it runs realy hot mine does not. it runs at about 65C idle and 75 under load. AND i have the card overclocked slightly. The reason it runs cool for me is becasue i have a Vantec PCI slot cooler. the one that looks like a ThermalTake Duo Orb. The temp is fine for me but the performance and noise of this card is amazing, because i took the air duct off the card i can run the PCI cooler nice and slow, so its cool and quiet. the performance is very good. WoW runs at 103fps. XO with my 4gb of ram and my q9450 this card pwns. My movies are clear and with the audio streamed through the HDMI cable, cable managment is minimal. good card, 5/5.

Pros: 1.) Card fits nicely into standard ATX-mid towers. The 3870 X2 was simply to long (10'') to fit into a mid-ATX tower. 2.) The 4870 will blow away any game you play on it. I'm getting average fps over 100 now with max graphics settings with 99% of the games I have. Crysis is the exception. Crysis performance with Intel Core 2 Duo 2.53 and 4 GB RAM screen res at 1650 X 1080 with all graphics settings on medium I'm averaging 65 fps now. Yeah really good. If I switch to all ''high'' settings I get 45 fps with dips to 25 fps when Koreans start shooting at me. 3.) The card really is priced right with the performance you get with the card. You get $500.00 worth of performance for around $270.00. 4.) Card is stable at high overclocks using Catalyst software. ATI has done a great job updating their drivers. Catalyst 8.7 now. Cons: 1.) Card runs really hot! 80C on idle. 85C on full load. It doesn't go over 85 and remains stable at that temp. 2.) Requires two 6-pin power connectors.
