DO NOT BY IT.
After a week without problems it failed sporadiacally when transferring big amount of data's. Then it failed when using it longer than 40 minutes. Now it is completely down. All data are lost. No recovery possible. I purchased it 4 weeks ago. DO NOT BY IT! |

Freakin terrible. I would rate with 0's or negative numbers if possible. I wouldnt take another one if you paid me!!!!!!! DO not buy--you will be sorry. Customer service/support is awful. What good is a warranty replacement if you lose all your info? NEVER BUY FROM MAXTOR! |

I bought this for my Mac G4 MDD as a backup. Didn't use it until I got a macbook. I tried to transfer everything off my G4 and the copying kept freezing up on both USB and Firewire. When I finally got everything on the drive, the Macbook wouldn't recognize it. Found out later that OSX 10.5 doesn't like this drive, it shows up in system profiler but not in Disk Utility.
Then I tried it on 2 PCs running XP pro. Neither would even recognize it. I'll never buy from this company again. |

I recently purchased this drive and love the 1 touch option, file sync ability and most of all the security to lock out the drive completly. I would (and did) recommened this to my own mother. |

Bought this drive as a replacement for another drive that had failed. Drive was DOA out of the box, could actually hear something rattling around in drive case. The container it came in looked used like it had been repackaged. Very complicated procedure for returning drive, still waiting to hear back. Disappointed so far with the whole Seagate/Maxtor experience. |
