 BenQ SP831 DLP Projector
The BenQ SP831 commands your attention! The SP831 features an HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) processor, BrilliantColor technology, 1280 x 768 WXGA resolution, 4000 ANSI Lumens brightness, 2000:1 contrast, and 2D Keystone correction. The embedded HQV processor significantly enhances the split-screen function of the projector by delivering superior performance in de-interlacing, noise reduction and scaling with both standard-definition and high-definition signals. The HQV is able to perform the full suite of image-enhancing processing calculations on two simultaneous high definition sources, bringing flawless performance for picture-in-picture or split-screen functions. The BenQ SP831 also features a zoom control function that allows you to zoom in on specific portions of the displayed image, and an off-line cooling function for automatic cooling after unplugging the projector. And the SP831 boasts a wealth of application modes, and is compatible with various inputs including DVI-I (with HDCP), component, composite and S-video. You’ll get colors so vivid, it’s simply mesmerizing, as you take presentations to a whole new level with the BenQ SP831 DLP projector.

Best big screen experience
Take presentations to a whole new level with the new BenQ SP831 data projectors. Made for any auditorium, colors and details are delivered with crystal-clear smoothness that'll even make video projectors blush. Plus, with its unique technology and brightness to spare at 4,000 stunning ANSI lumens, the WXGA projectors will never leave your audience in the dark.

 |
Chroma & Luma Transition Enhancement
Color video signals such as NTSC, PAL or SECAM types all have luminance
(luma) and chrominance (chroma) components. As the chroma signal bandwidth
is usually narrower than luma signal bandwidth, color edges changes occur
much slower than luma edges changes. Consequently, chroma signal edges/transitions
usually appear degraded. With Chroma & Luma Transition Enhancement, the
SP831 sharpen the chroma signal transitions to give you razor-sharp video
signals with no distracting picture blur.
|
 |
Noise Reduction
Via a temporal noise filter, several frames are evaluated at once. Pixels that give rise to visual noise are then instantly identified and eliminated. Distortion resulting from too much compression is also corrected.
|
 |
BrilliantColor™
True beauty comes from within. The revolutionary BrilliantColor™ enables higher brightness levels by boosting mid-tone colors – guaranteeing your presentations are more vibrant and precisely rendered.

Bought this projector to replace an older Panasonic and the difference is amazing. Colors are great and the picture is sharp for both PC and TV. The projector has lots of great features like the split screen and automatically switching inputs. Overall this is a great projector, very bright, great picture and quiet. Would recommend to others. |

About HDTV Viewing Angles
The Viewing Angle of any TV is an important specification. The wider
the viewing angle, the more enjoyable your experience. Viewing angles
above 150° means you can view your TV from a reasonable range - from the
front and off to the sides. However, viewing angles above 170° are
best! Many of today's Plasma and LCD HDTVs offer viewing angles of
178°, and their images do not suffer from degradation at very high viewing
angles. LCD TVs were originally designed for a one user
experience, as a computer monitor, but the technology has kept pace with the
demands for ever increasing viewing angles, and most offer excellent viewing
experiences. Between LCD and Plasma; Plasma TVs have the advantage,
but by a small margin.

Viewing angles are not an issue with
projectors because the light source is coming from in front of the screen,
and not from behind. However, the surface on which you project (screen or
wall surface) may have a slight impact on viewing angles, so it is important
to choose the best screen possible. |

Projecting
The Perfect Home Theater Experience!
When creating a home theater, most people overlook the amazing benefits of
using a
DLP or LCD Projector instead of a large screen LCD or Plasma TV.
Projectors provide the ultimate experience in big screen viewing.
Instead of a 40 or 50 inch TV, with far less cost, you can have a
8 or 10
foot screen, and transform your living room into a true theater experience.
Additionally, projectors are available with High Definition displays for
incredibly crisp rich full color cinematic images. When you sit on a
sofa 6 or 8 feet away from a 10 foot screen, it almost exactly the same
experience as sitting in the movie theater (without the guy talking on his
cell phone behind you!) So consider the ultimate upgrade to your home
theater or gaming system. Add in a great home theater sound system,
and for very little money, you've created a movie watching dimension the
envy of your friends and family. So before you decide on your wide
screen consider the perfect solution to transforming any living room into
your own cineplex!
