Intel
Core 2 Duo E6750 Processor BX80557E6750
Intel® Core™2 Duo processor is the new brand name for our next-generation energy-efficient
performance desktop and mobile processors. Formerly known by their codenames
Conroe and Merom, the Intel® Core™2 processors for desktop and mobile computers
are based on the Intel® Core™ microarchitecture, Intel's new industry-leading
foundation for all mobile, desktop and server platforms moving forward.
CES
2007 Best of Innovations Honoree
The world's best microprocessor, Intel Core 2 Duo microprocessor. Innovations
Design and Engineering Awards honor outstanding consumer electronics design
and engineering.
By offering a single brand
name for our mainstream desktop and laptop dual-core processors, Intel's branding
strategy makes it simple for consumers and businesses to choose a powerful and
energy efficient processor – and makes it easier for developers to "write once,
run everywhere."
"...and not only was the Intel system running at 2.66GHz - a slower clock
rate then the top Pentium 4 - it was outpacing an overclocked Athlon 64 FX-60.
Wrap your brain around that idea for a bit" - Intel
Reveals Conroe Architecture: Lloyd Case, Extremetech March 8,2006
Intel® Core™2 Processor Family
When launched later this year, the Intel® Core™2 Duo processor will
provide enhanced performance and energy-efficiency in mobile applications while
bringing for the first time the benefits of energy-efficient performance to
mainstream desktop computing. It will be Intel's highest performing desktop
processor ever and the new first choice of gamers and multimedia professionals
worldwide.
As with the Intel® Pentium® processor brand, use of the
number "2" signals the arrival of the next generation of technology
to the Intel® Core™ processor line. In order to be consistent with
our current Intel Core processor naming, we are continuing to use "Duo"
to creatively and effectively indicate Intel® dual-core technology.

Detailed Features
Features
Intel® Wide Dynamic Execution
Dynamic execution is a combination of techniques (data flow analysis, speculative
execution, out of order execution, and super scalar) that Intel first implemented
in the P6 microarchitecture used in the Pentium® Pro processor, Pentium®
II processor and Pentium® III processors.
Intel® Intelligent Power Capability
Intel® Intelligent Power Capability is a set of capabilities designed
to reduce power consumption and design requirements. This feature manages
the runtime power consumption of all the processor's execution cores. The
result is excellent energy optimization enabling the Intel Core microarchitecture
to deliver more energy-efficient performance for desktop PCs, mobile PCs and
servers.
Intel® Advanced Smart Cache
The Intel® Advanced Smart Cache is a multi-core optimized cache that significantly
reduces latency to frequently used data, thus improving performance and efficiency
by increasing the probability that each execution core of a dual-core processor
can access data from a higher-performance, more efficient cache subsystem.
Intel® Smart Memory Access
Intel® Smart Memory Access improves system performance by optimizing the
use of the available data bandwidth from the memory subsystem and hiding the
latency of memory accesses.
Intel® Advanced Digital Media Boost
The Intel® Advanced Digital Media Boost is a feature that significantly
improves performance when executing Streaming SIMD Extension (SSE/SSE2/SSE3)
instructions.

I didn't purchase this from here, but this is a freaking AWESOME processor. After using the stock cooler for only 2 months i went with a Zalman 9700. I have this overclocked to 3.2, but i can run it at 3.4ghz without any problems. VERY COOL processor! With the cooler i can hit 41*C at full load (that's having multiple conversions at one time running :P).
With the right software i can convert a 25 minute video to an iPod in about 95 seconds and still maintain great video quality.

WOW for the cpu!! Only complaint is the 775 cpu cooler mount. It is just 4 holes in the mother board. The plastic piece of junk you stick in the holes will come out. Even more so when moving your case. Why would you put the arrows in the direction to remove it rather than install it? Worlds best cpu with the worlds worst cooler mounting system. Idiots!

Fast, fast, fast. You might want to consider getting the OEM version and getting a better fan - mine seems a little noisy.

Great price for great processor, this thing works like a dream with games like front like, ive got it clocked at 3.0 with stock fan. GREAT DEAL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Heat Sinks - Many Shapes & Sizes!
A heat sink (or heatsink) is an object that absorbs and dissipates heat from
another object using thermal contact (either direct or radiant). Heat sinks
are used in a wide range of applications wherever efficient heat dissipation
is required; including for CPUs, Memory, Video Cards, and more.
Heat Sink Shapes Change!
Many products come with a Heat Sink, and some with a combination Heat Sink
and Fan. Keep in mind though, that manufacturers are constantly
improving the design of their cooling components, thus the shape and design
of the heat sink or heat sink & fan can change on any product at any time.
PLEASE NOTE:
Cooling Components Can Change At Any Time, And Do Not
Affect The Performance Or Specifications Of The Product.
How Do Heat Sinks Work?
Heat sinks function by transferring high temperature thermal energy (heat)
from one object (such as a CPU chip) to a second object (such as the Heat
Sink), which has a lower temperature, with a much greater heat capacity.
This rapid transfer of heat quickly balances the temperature of both
devices, lowering the temperature of the first. This is what makes a
heat sink a cooling device. Since room temperature is usually cooler than
the hot device, the Heat Sink helps cool the device, lowering its temp to
closer to room temperature.
The most common design of a heat sink is a metal device with many fins or
vanes. The high thermal conductivity of the metal combined with the large
surface area of the fins does the work to rapidly transfer heat to the
surrounding, cooler, air. This cools the heat sink and whatever it is in
contact with. Some Heat Sinks use the metal alone for cooling, some
use fluids (just like you car radiator) and a thermal interface material
(such as thermal gel) to ensure maximum heat transfer to the heat sink.
Adding a fan dramatically improves air flow, and improves the heat transfer
even more.
Remember The
Thermal Paste!
Remember that when you are adding a Heat Sink, you MUST USE
thermally conductive Gel or Paste, to form a good thermal contact between
the Heat Sink and the Device. Failing to use this will result in
reduced cooling, and possible failure and damage to the device!
