Customer Reviews
Got this card to replace my ATI Radeon 2006 Edition and get a little more life out this box since I upgraded to Vista over the summer. I also replaced the older Athlon with the fastest Socket A chip, a Sempron 3300 with 400MHz FSB, and filled all three slots with 1GB PC3200 DDR for 3GB total.
Old system barely ran UT3Demo, was sluggish and video quality was low. What a difference the upgrade made. It's like a brand new machine. Display is crisp and smooth, and everything runs faster. I've yet to tweak the card and settings, but things look very promising. I'll probably try 3DMark2006 for fun and see what it scores. I've been an ATI fan for a long time, but after reading horror stories about newer ATI cards with AGP and lack of driver support, I decided to go with NVidia. I'll probably go with an ATI Crossfire for my next rig, but I'm glad I chose the NVidia card for this application.
while its by far not the most powerful card out there, it gets the job done. even my older games like fable look amazing on this thing but it will struggle to play oblivion. so if you aren't a casual gamer like myself and leads a more hard core gaming lifestyle, save up and buy something else. other than that, it's great for the price
Card works but I had to re-install XP Pro to get it to work. Installation guide was worthless and could never get ahold of tech support for help. Bought to run BF2142. Running on Med-High settings AA2X AF8X no lag. Could run on high with a little lag, but my system may be the bottle neck.
