By combining our "EE" (Energy Efficient) platform, which converts as much as 85% of AC power into DC power during typical loads, with a quiet 135MM ball bearing fan, our patented modular interface and our Limited Lifetime Warranty, Ultra clearly dominates the market with the new X3 power supply!
The X3 is super efficient, using less electricity than other power supplies when providing power to your computer and it generates less heat. Cooling is substantial yet silent by utilizing a thermostatically controlled 135MM ball bearing fan and a honeycomb cut exhaust grill. The X3 also has full range active PFC, which improves apparent power used by the computer. The modular interface allows you to only plug in the cables you actually require for your particular PC. The X3 is ready for even the most high end gaming rigs by providing up to four 6-pin PCI-e connectors, and the 800W and 1000W models provide the newest 8-pin PCI-e connector for the latest 300W graphics cards.

Excessive, but what's wrong with that?
It works, haven't had any issues, and it supplies more power than I'll ever, ever need. One thing to keep in mind if you're looking at this particular model, make sure it will fit before you buy it. I actually bought this for my wife's computer, but it was a half inch too long to fit in the case. Ended up having to use it in my own computer ( ;) ).

Great PSU
Got this baby for my tower, very easy to install, fit nicely in my HAF 932 Full tower. Slight issue where my monitors would go black, wouldn't shut down, but would no longer show screens and had to reboot. Just ignored it for awhile and it hasn't happened in weeks. Cool, quiet, high wattage. Definite recommend. AMD 6core OC'ed 4.1 8gb 1600 ram Asus m4a89td pro 2GB Radeon HD 6870

BEAST Power Supply
Huge & Powerful. Very Sharp and keep my tower looking clean. I have had no issues with it what-so-ever. It can power almost anything I throw at it. By far my favorite power supply yet.

I have a warp drive
This thing is HUGE, and weighs a ton. I have a mid tower case with a bottom mount psu. So it fits, but theres not much room for plugging in cables. Also, I had to mount it upside down to insure sufficiant airflow. I should note that the cables are a little short, making it impossible to route them in hidden cable management positions behind MB. Also, it only runs at 1200w with 110v outlet. All that said; It' like installing a warp drive in pc. This thing handles liquid cooling pump, 5 case fans two gtx560's, 16gb of ram, a raid array, and it's own two fans with ease. It runs fairley quiet and I have no more stability issues when overclocking. My old 850w wouldn't do the job. Plus a LIFETIME WARRANTY! If you've got the room, go for it. One more thing; My hard drives mount sideways. It may not fit, with oldschool hard drive mounting.
