I stumbled across one of these while wandering through staples. At the time it was on sale for $45 so i picked it up. I was surprised by the transfer rates offered by this thing. Currently i have my vmware virtual machines stored on it along with the players for two operating systems. Excellent for what i'm demanding from it.
I will mention though, I won't keep anything of value on it. I expect it will fail sometime soon (the price and the fact that i've never had good luck with PNY). Oh well, it works for now.

WOW I really can't believe I actually read a bunch of bad reviews about this PNY 8 Gig Attache USB flash drive. Staples had them on sale for one day 3 weeks ago when they opened a new store here in Charlotte and I grabbed 3 of them for $19.99 apiece. I've been using them to transfer files from one of my computers that I use to download music/movies/tv episodes, and then upload them to my main rig that I burn them on and I've found that its a whole lot faster than sharing files/folder thru my router. Its like drag and drop instantaneously. Then I delete whats on the USB drive and go again. I've already transfered 30 gig of music/movies/etc over the last 3 weeks and the 2 I've been using work flawless. I'm not sure what these other folks are doing wrong with them but the ones I got are great.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!!. Mine was defective. When I asked PNY for the warranty, they said I had to pay the shipping costs (international, BTW) to get it fixed, it was about US$34, and when they send it back they didn't made it properly and I had to pay custom fees (US$15). They said they would refund custom fees but they didn't. At the end, I ended paying about US$170 dlls for an 8gb flash memory which is slow and bigger than other 8gb flash drives (eg. Samsung). Just google it and you will find how many people complain of this product and the customers service of PNY.

Couple things about this drive. I have owned several for business use. I would buy bigger if it were economically feasible. being able to carry my ISOs and Product install files with me is invaluable. I have used them since they first hit the market. If you are looking for a safe place to put your files...I suggest you hit up a kangaroo or lexar secure jump drive. This is for mass storage only. I have yet to have one fail, thrown through the washer, dropped on the concrete several times. The cap does inevitably get lost, and the keyring hole breaks eventually. But for the price you cant beat it. Dont expect a $200 flash drive because this definitely is not one. However it gets the job done that it was intended for and does it well.
