 Are You Burning Blu-ray Discs?
The Next Century of Digital Media Write/Recording.
Sometimes the best isn’t enough. For those true video-enthusiasts that crave the absolute top quality in their own creations, we introduce the LiteOn LH-2B1S Blu-ray Triple burner. Blu-ray is the next generation platform for High-Definition (HD) video content. It is fully supported by more than 160 of the world’s largest gaming manufacturers, movie studios, consumer electronics and PC manufacturers. The LH-2B1S is ideal for professionals with a growing need for archiving large files and content on a single disc.
The Blue (Digital) World
The LH-2B1S uses the revolutionary blue laser technology instead of the red laser in current optical drives. This technology provides precise laser focus and greatly increases storage capacity. Commercial advertising, studio and catalog photographers, the film industry, and IT managers will greatly benefit from High-Definition (HD) content playback and massive data archiving to reduce physical storage space. The LH-2B1S can store up to 25 GB of data on a single-layer BD disc.
Write Everything. Copy Anything.
The LiteOn LH-2B1S Blu-ray Triple burner is capable of recording and playing back the most popular media formats including Blu-ray, DVD, and CD. The drive features a 2X read and write speed on BD-ROM, BD-R, BD-RE media, and supports DVD±R media at 12X. LH-2B1S writes DVD±R DL (Double Layer) media at 4X, rewrite DVD+RW media at 8X, DVD-RW media at 6X, and reads DVD-ROM media at 12X.
Designed for the Best.
The LH-2B1S also features patented SMART-BURN technology for optimizing the quality of each burn, and SMART-X for setting the optimum speed of operation, which enables users to run other applications while making a BD, DVD, or CD with a minimum risk of failed burns. Charge headlong into the next generation of digital media. Get a LiteOn LH-2B1S Blu-ray Triple burner today!

There is some question about this drive being firmware upgradeable to 4x and supporting DL. I e-mailed lite-on and this is what support had to say:
Kindly be informed that this drive support read DL blu-ray discs not support write/burn DL blu-ray discs. And we don't have 4x firmware to update, for more product specifications please refer to:

Despite not supporting 4x and DL, this burner is great. It'll burn a blu-ray disk at approx. 45 minutes and does well with quality disks (TDK, Sony, Verbatim). If you desire an all-in-one burner and you've got the money, invest in one - you won't regret it. |

When I tried to burn my first disk, it got 14 percent done and locked up using the burning software included. I was afraid that I had wasted a $14 disk. I found that there was a update for windows vista online. I installed it, it actually reburned the previously burned disk so I didn't waste a disk after all. Works perfectly, looks great on my Sony BD player. I would recommend the burner. I burned a .m2t file that was edited on a mac in HD. I had to change the extension from .M2T to .MOV for the software to understand it but once I did that it worked great. Disks do not artifact, and it looks as good as the original HD content! |
