Great Projector. It's clear, bright, and very reasonably priced. The lamp life has also been quite excellent as we've had ours for appox 1 year. |

This is our first projector and we could not be more pleased. We travel throughout the state and use the projector with our powerpoint presentations. Set up is quick and easy; less than 5 minutes. I have also had the opportunity to use it at home for movies and I am very happy with the picture quality. We have been talking for a while now about getting another one but still have not been able to justify the need. |

Quite a versatile unit from Optoma; I get a lot of projector “bang” for the $, even if it’s more than most XGA units here. Why? Lamps are cheaper than some projectors that initially cost less; second, it’s very bright (though if you’re one who watches movies, consider a unit that uses something like 3LCD instead for more contrast), and eco-mode only results in a small contrast/intensity drop. Lastly, connections are great, from DVI (HDCP) to composite. However, there are some improvements needed: I’ve had to RMA this unit once because the lens tube slowly loosened to the point where every time I focus the unit, the image would shift nearly a foot sideways at 10’ distance. Second, S-video and composite are so-so; the converters are inefficient (motion blurring during a LAN party with an Xbox and DVD player). Last, the component input needs a D-Sub to 3x RCA “breakout cable.” Overall, I recommend the EP745; just be gentle with the focus ring, and try to use only the DVI and D-Sub inputs. |

great! we use it for sunday school on a laptop using vga and there are no problems. we used it once for a youth event and projected visualizations from the back of the room onto the ceiling (about 70 feet max)...WOW. Excellent color, great focus, even at that distance. We also use it on a PS2 with a logitech 500W 5.1 system from TG. No complaints. |

When it comes to experiencing the full potential of this machine, it's all about the connection!!! I've tried s-video, component, & VGA . I even bought a new XFX 6800 GS video card, then connected it using DVI, and I was still not completely happy with the picture quality (maybe I didn't configure the settings right?). I was just about ready to return it & go with an LCD flat screen TV. I decided to try one last connection. I bought a new DVD player with an HDMI output. I connected the DVD player to the projector using a Monster HDMI-to-DVI cable....... and I almost had a nervous break-down!!!!! WOW !!! I had a hard time viewing dark scenes with the previous connections, but that problem was solved when I used the DVD player & HDMI-to-DVI connection. There is no ''rainbow'' effect with this set-up. I wear glasses, and do know that if I let my glasses fall low on my nose I end up looking through to top part of my glasses, which causes me to get a bit of a rainbow effect whene |

Projecting
The Perfect Home Theater Experience!
When creating a home theater, most people overlook the amazing benefits of
using a
DLP or LCD Projector instead of a large screen LCD or Plasma TV.
Projectors provide the ultimate experience in big screen viewing.
Instead of a 40 or 50 inch TV, with far less cost, you can have a
8 or 10
foot screen, and transform your living room into a true theater experience.
Additionally, projectors are available with High Definition displays for
incredibly crisp rich full color cinematic images. When you sit on a
sofa 6 or 8 feet away from a 10 foot screen, it almost exactly the same
experience as sitting in the movie theater (without the guy talking on his
cell phone behind you!) So consider the ultimate upgrade to your home
theater or gaming system. Add in a great home theater sound system,
and for very little money, you've created a movie watching dimension the
envy of your friends and family. So before you decide on your wide
screen consider the perfect solution to transforming any living room into
your own cineplex!
