	Socket This motherboard features a Socket 775 design. The Zero Insertion Force (ZIF) style socket makes it easy to install and upgrade your processor.

	Chipset The D946GZISSL motherboard is based on the Intel 946GZ Northbridge chipset and the Intel ICH7 1 Southbridge chipset. It supports Intel Core 2 DUo, Pentium D, Pentium 4 and Celeron D Processors, with Hyper-Threading Technology and 533/800/1066MHz Front Side Bus support.

	Memory Expansion The D946GZISSL provides 2 DIMM sockets using Dual Channel 240-pin DDR2 with a total capacity of up to 2GB. You can install DDR2 533/667MHz Memory.

	PCI Express Support The P5ND946GZISSL SLI fully supports PCI Express, the latest I/O interconnect technology that speeds up the PCI bus. PCI Express features point-to-point serial interconnections between devices and allows higher clockspeeds by carrying data in packets. This high-speed interface is software compatible with existing PCI specifications.

	IDE The D946GZISSL includes built in IDE facilities that support Ultra ATA 66/100.

	Audio The D946GZISSL comes with an AC'97 audio codec which supports high quality 6-channel audio.

	Serial ATA Support The D946GZISSL supports the Serial ATA technology through the Serial ATA II interfaces. Doubles bus bandwidth which provides blazingly high disk performance, up to 3.0Gb/s.

I bought this MB with a CPU package. Easy install the documentation is good but not excellent. When I installed the MB and turned the computer on every radio in the house went crazy with static. After several hours working on this I talked to Intel tech support they informed me the MB had only been tested in certain cases, they directed me to their web site where it showed 152 cases it had been tested in. I think this was the run around! I bought an ABIT MB put it in the same case with all the same items attached/installed and it worked fine. As usual TigerDirect worked with me to resolve the problem they are just great.

The board is conventional. The instructions are poor and some devices are not labeled. I receive CPU overheat warnings on start-up, but not during run-time. During installation of windows, the USB ports are active, then shut down during boot. The FDD header does not have positive plug insertion.
