The Audio Xtreme 360 (AX360), is designed for the ultimate gamer with Rumble Headset Technology and includes a removable microphone that is XBOX Live compatible. True digital 5.1 sound is achieved through 8 strategically placed speakers, 4 in each ear cup. The external 5.1 audio controller can connect two specialized AX360 headsets, includes Fiber Optic and Digital Coaxial inputs, 5.1 analog outputs and multiple adjustments for volume and digital sound processing. The AX360 give total control with inline volume adjustments for front, side, rear, and vibration to customize the users own audio extravaganza.
Not only has the graphics of games improved but so has the audio with most games being encoded with Dolby Digital and 5.1 adding a new dimension to the gaming experience. the only thing i could find that does what i want
i searched the web for a device that would take Toslink optical input from my xbox360 and output analogue 5.1 surround sound. (3, differently colored, 3 conductor, TRS connectors. green: frontL/R, black: rearL/R, orange: center/subwoofer) THERE IS NO DEVICE AVAILABLE (that i found) THAT HAS ONLY THIS FUNCTION. the AX360 headphones are better though. i can have 5.1 on my speaker system or i can use the headphones when i dont want to bother anyone. you could say the AX360 is better than what i was looking for. and the vibe feature is a creative solution to get good bass out of headphones. i like it.

Good deal
It was good, it came after 3 business days (5 if I count the weekend), It came through fine despite I was an international customer, when it came it was in good condition. It worked fine too. the microphone is too sensitive. it gets feedback too easily sooo.. not quite good for xbox live, although it has good quality in the microphone's sound. the audio decoder had a really weird wall connector. it was something i'd never seen before. but I was able to hook it up with a spare DC connector. too bad it seems the on board sound isn't working good as the digital audio isn't going good. overall good for the price but you could get better. although it is built pretty well and comes with all the nice sound cables. :)

Mic could be better
great headset sounds great but could use a mic mute switch have to unplug and re plug (use on xb360)
