The EZ500-S is a Palm-Sized Networking Marvel!

The EZ series of switches are designed to make network installations simple, quick, and easy . To create this easy installation, GigaFast Ethernet engineers have developed a fully Plug-and-Play switch. Not only does the EZ500-S auto-detect if the client is 10 or 100 Mbps, it also detects if the client is another switch! If the client is another switch, hub, or router, the EZ500-S will automatically make the client port an uplink port. So when connecting the EZ500-S to a network, just plug it in, and the EZ500-S will do all the rest.

The EZ500-S is not only known for its fully Plug-and-Play capabilities, it is also the smallest networking switch on the market. Measuring at only 110mm by 70mm, the EZ500-S is a palm-sized networking marvel. The EZ500-S’s incredible size and functionality enable it to easily fit into any home or office network.

I bought many of these for several jobs I had and they are not bad at all they all worked and work well the only thing that I did not like is that they dont show link connection (ie 10Mb or 100mb with or without duplex) Cant complain though I have them on networks running on gamin networks running at almost full capacity 18 of 24 hrs a day.

Works great for a small switch, I needed to replace a old 24 hub switch with loud fans, with a silent one that my wife wouldn't make me turn off at night, this did the job for the computers that are on all day long, very easy to use, and most importantly SILENT switch.

After filling up my ports on my first router I figured this was the easiest and cheapest solution for extending my LAN. I've plugged my VOIP phone to it and so far no problems. Great little product.

I bought two. The first one was to replace an existing hub which would seem to lock up when a computer on that hub used P2P. The second allowed me to install a NAS where I wanted without running new cable. I don't have performance figures but they seem to do a great job. The price made it easy to decide that it was a better option than the bother of running new cable. The only negative I see is that the status LEDs are poorly separated. It takes more than a casual glance to see which are actually lit and which are just bleeding light from the one next to it. Overall a great deal.
