Setup not easy!

I had trouble seting up the print server. It works well. I can't print from my laptop to one of the printers but can to the other. The one printer prints 95% of the first page but will not complete the print. The loptop runs Vista and the desktop runs on Xp and has no problems at all.

Good Value, PIA to Setup

I bought this for the parallel and usb features as I have both . Set up 3 printers on it. Setting up the device took some finesse on my system. I ended up having to assign a fixed ip to the ps due to a conflict with my work vpn. After that it seemed to drop the printer ip's constantly until I reserved those ip's in my router. Now that it is set up, it has been stable and I have no problems with it. Very nice device once it's set up. The Wizard is simple to use as long as you don't have the complexities in your system that I have (VPN,FTP,etc.). Running a mix of XP, Vista and Win 7 computers on my system. I had no problems setting each up once I figured out the issues on the first computer.

I installed with vista not a single porblem. I suggest to all people that have had issues RTFM I sugest learning about print servers before buying one it is not plug and play. As far as a firmware upgrade RTFM! a bin file is what is used to flash an eprom with new instructions... again RTFM. Excellent product I have 16 Trendnet devices in use, for years now. I have tried others after they burn out I end up buying a trendnet.

Very unhappy with unit. With Vista, using TCIP port may or may not work. Doesn't support HP printer Why buy equipment that doesn't work with Vista. Tech support useless. Company refused to refund money.

I have successfully installed this printer server to a Samsung Laser, and Epson Ink Jet. They are used by an XP Desktop, 2 XP laptops, and a Vista 64bit machine. I have had only minor problems with having to reboot the device once in a while (unplug - replug). I have had no problems with Vista with either configuring or with rebooting. I did use XP for the initial set-up, but this should not be necessary. Once the device gets an IP address you can navigate to the home page and get configuration information from there - should be no problem. I would add it wouldn't hurt to have some decent network knowledge to work with this device. If you don't - you might consider setting up a shared printer on a PC you don't mind leaving on - that is much simpler. I would recommend this device.
