This is good if your friend or you bought an internal hard drive and you want to backup your computer. You slide the hard drive in the case plug the case into the wall with the AC and then the USB into your computer and it works great backup information becomes easy if you have an internal hard drive. |

I plugged this into my windows 7 64 bit and works fine. The only problem I had was the extremely tight fit. I literally had to smush the hard drive inside once it was hooked up. The alignment was off and had to press the rear part down on my hardwood floor and put all of my weight into it. After working it to get it properly aligned, I was able to screw one screw into it. The other screw wouldn't fit. But the hard drive is so tight in there that I would never have to worry about it falling out. It now sits pretty on my desk, ready for backup files.

This is my second unit,used initially for file transfer and then ongoing backup for our recently purchased PC's. As previously mentioned a tight fit but not a problem. |

I have a number of old disc drives that I wanted to transfer over to my new computer. The Vantec did the job perfectly. A little worried about the tight fit for the wires. May become a problem in the long run. Otherwise, an excellent purchase. |
