I bought this comobo about 2 weeks ago and it flies, used the recommended fan and overclocked it to the same specs another user here also noted running at a max of 2200mhz and highly stable at that rate wtih the bus at 215, the computer has a danger C temp of 85 and mine is running at 49 or less all the time 2 days straight at that temperature, very ideal for overclocking and works great with the abit motherboard, the only thing i ever had to change was the settings cuz it read it at 990 mhz (bc the motherboards default is set lower than the cpu normally needs) after that it flew. Added teh chaintech 128mb video card and this cp rocks. one of my better builds, thanks tiger!

Installed the KV7-V bundle with the Athlon XP 2900 and 512 MB Memory. As others have stated, do not install the shim. BIOS boots with PCI video card settings, and shows the wrong processor during the installation of Windows XP with an AGP card. Changing the BIOS to boot with an AGP card will show the proper CPU, but changes back to the wrong CPU when the machine reboots again. Yes, it's frustrating. After XP is full loaded, install all the chipset drivers and UPDATE THE BIOS to the newest version! Now you can update XP. It runs great with the newest BIOS !

This was my first build. It went well. This motherboard and processor work well together. Hint:Don't forget to clear the CMOS. The memory is just fine. A second stick in slot #3 will allow you to maximize this combo's potential.

Great BANG for the buck! Running at 2170ghz and a P-rating of 3136 with Thermaltake TR-2 HSF (prime95 for 31+ hours) rock solid. Pay attention to install of the HSF it must step correctly or the CPU will run HOT. To O/C just open the BIOS and step the cpu and memory voltage one time and crank the bus up until stable about 215. Added 2 80g Samsung Sata drives in striping mode (the via drivers are incredible!!!! the HD's bench like scsi drives) and added an old XFX 5200 card in a new ANTEC SLK2650 case (huge case fan included) and this machine rocks!!
