Why X2 is Better than Ever.
All New Redesigned 550 Watt Ultra X-Connect (X2.)
If you’re familiar with the Ultra X-Connect (1st Generation) you know that it’s the world’s first completely modular design. That means you only have to connect the cables you need. This leaves your system’s airflow unimpeded by clunky, chunky air stifling cables. The end result? Airflow that cools and protects your precious components. This born-to-be-modded power supply goes several steps beyond its award-winning predecessors. The Ultra 550-watt titanium finish X-Connect features FlexForce technology, which delivers easy cable routing while remaining hidden within your case. FlexForce’s special design allows air to travel 30-percent more effectively than standard cables. This results in a quantum leap in performance. Plus the 550-Watt X-Connect dresses its cables in a sleek, titanium UV reactive finish.
Dual Rail Technology for More Stable Power
Specially developed for extreme gaming rigs! This 550-watt Ultra X-Connect features Dual Rail Technology. The X-Connect’s critical 12V power is divided into two separate rails. This distributes cleaner power to your CPU, offering better stability and greater overclocking potential. You’ll get phenomenal system performance with the 550-watt X-Connect!

Loved the Modular cabling
I've had this since 07 and until tonight, it operating great, and was silent. Although it just failed, the warranty is lifetime if registered with Ultra. I will turn it in for a replacement and gladly use another.

Worked for a while
Ive had this power supply for three years now, well like 3 years and 5 months so its not under warranty anymore. It worked great for the first three years. Modular was nice provided enough power. Now, I had the same problem others had with the fan dropping. Well it dropped and the corner of the fan caught the grating and cracked the fan in half so now its useless and I need a new one.

When I got my Ultra PSU I was very pleased with its looks and its functionality (the modular hookups). However have owned this product for two years now and its dying. It started with the fan beginning to drop down every so slightly. This caused the fan to begin colliding with the mesh screen. I removed the mesh screen and before long it had slid down further, making contact with the ''ULTRA'' logo blazoned across the bottom. Not being very interested in sending it back for warranty, I cut the logo off. A week later, the fan began making contact with the actual base of the PSU itself. Now, its having trouble supplying enough power to my 7900 GTX video card, causing artifacts and other similar problems due to its inability to power my system. Overall, quite disappointed.

Amazing, after one year of owning this PSU, it is still as quiet as a baby sleeping. Since then I have upgraded memory (4GB worth of OCZ 800 MHz DDR2 SLI Edition DIMMs), SeaGate HDDs (250GB SATA, 20GB EIDE, 500GB SATA, and recently 1TB SATA drive). Since then, I have overclocked my system even more; operating now at 2.67 GHz with my trusty Athlon 64 X2 4600+. Super stable system. THANKS ULTRA!!!!

I bought this PSU to go inside my MicroFly computer case... The interior space in the case is tight. I barely had room for the PSU and the SATA DVD burner I also bought. This is a nice PSU... I love the Modular concept. Only use the cables that you need.
