The USB 2.0 to IDE Drive Adapter implements a bridge between one USB port and one ATA or ATAPI based mass storage device port. The USB 2.0 to IDE Drive Adapter turns any IDE drive into a convenient external drive. Easily transfer files from computer or notebook, back up files, or store large file archives on hard drives. The Hi-Speed USB interface provides for easy installation with its Plug and Play design. Worked great, untill I unpluged it from the HD. The IDE plug separated from the plastic housing (and died). Send it back and now I wait (and wait) for the refund. Good idea (4/5), but manufactured poorly (1/5)...

Works great. Doesn't look exactly like the picture as the adapter/cable is all black instead of a blue adapter with the silver cable, but the functionality couldn't be simpler. Great product!

Verry usefull hardware ! Easy to use. Just make sure to connect the IDE cable correcly (because it's easy to plug it not in the center of the connector so you have 2 pins not connected).

What a great idea! Resurrected my old HDD... works great for my old internal CDRW, makes it external. plug and play on XP.

It works ok, it works with my 2.5 inch drive all the time but i have trouble getting power to my HD and Cd drives, they wont power up all the time when i plug in the adapter for some reason. get it if you have 2.5 inch drive works great for those
