First time I've used a SATA HDD. Don't know that I can tell a great deal of difference yet, but I like the smaller cables for sure. Less mess and a much neater, cleaner space with better air-flow. I have worked on many computers and replaced many HDDs, but never have I replaced a Seagate. Many ppl buy WD or Maxtor or Hitachi, (WD and Hitachi b/c they are cheaper). But I've lerned that with Seagate you get a five year warranty but with Maxtor, Hitachi and WD you only get a three year warranty. So, not only does Seagate last longer, but even if it fails you've got two more years than with the others, and for just a few bucks more. SEAGATE ALL THE WAY!!

This drive is great - first experience with a SATA drive. Used with Intel board D865PERL & Windows XP SP2 and install was a snap. No extra drivers to load at all. This is the third Seagate drive I have purchased, and I will continue to trust them to produce quality products.

This HDD is great. I purchased two for my RAID 0 setup. They installed simply. Theyre OEM so dont expect cables with them. Also, they need the special SATA power connector, may want to look into a converter. They are extremely fast, no problems at all. Never use anything but Seagate.

Seems to be a very reliable drive, I work on computers and have yet to replace a Seagate, as opposed to several Dell installed Western Digitals as well as a Maxtor or two. I still have my 2 IDEs installed, one a Seagate 120 and the other a Maxtor 80 Diamond 9. I do plan on purchasing another identical drive in the near future to set up a RAID 0.
